Career opportunities for Physicists and Engineers

Senior Physicists/Engineers Tokamak Systems and Magnets/Cryogenics Milton Park and Culham Science Centre – circa £45,000 p.a. Tokamak Energy is a fast growing company with excellent backers, exceptionally high ambition and exciting, patented technology.  These two new positions will play pivotal roles in advancing compact tokamak technology towards the demonstration of fusion energy generation. Great flexibility will be required in these roles as duties will be varied.  The Company is building multi-disciplinary teams – both internally and using consultants – so candidates will be required to work across boundaries both technical and geographical. Senior Physicist/Engineer – Tokamak Systems The successful candidate will design and develop systems for use in challenging environments in high performance tokamaks.  They will preferably have experience of tokamaks and fusion research . Senior Physicist/Engineer – Magnets and Cryogenics The successful candidate will be expected to have both engineering design and practical physics/instrumentation skills.  Familiarity with both high and low temperature superconducting magnets and cooled copper magnets will be an advantage. Both posts require Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) status with at least five years’ senior level experience; some of this gained in industry will be an advantage. These are full time positions working at both of our Oxfordshire sites.  In addition to a competitive salary, benefits include 5% pension contribution, annual bonus, share option eligibility after one year’s service and 30 days annual leave.
