Forge Care, a North Warwickshire-based specialist provider of trauma-informed residential care for children, has secured a majority investment from Endurance Capital. The transaction marks a successful partial exit for Future Planet Capital (FPC) Regional, reinforcing its 30-plus year track record of backing early-stage regional businesses, bridging equity gaps, and scaling high-impact operations that deliver strong financial returns.
FPC Regional has been the sole institutional equity investor in Forge Care to date, committing initial growth capital before the business had opened its first care home. Throughout the investment cycle, FPC Regional provided strategic backing to the founding Miller family – mitigating early operational risk, reinvesting to support a pivotal evolution in strategy, and strengthening corporate governance by appointing Jonathan Ward (former CEO of Breaking Free, a portfolio company successfully exited from the Exceed Partnership Fund, an FPC Regional legacy fund) as Independent Chair.
Under FPC Regional’s guidance, Forge Care transformed from a vision into a high-value regional enterprise. Its flagship campus in North Warwickshire, The Forge, operates four Ofsted-registered homes delivering integrated therapeutic care across 24 placements for young people aged 6–18. Since FPC Regional’s initial investment, the business has created more than 100 high-quality jobs in the West Midlands, facilitated the retirement of co-founders Jean and Michael Miller, and attracted significant inward investment into the region.
Executing a partial exit demonstrates FPC Regional’s flexible, partner-focused investment strategy. By retaining a continuing equity stake alongside Endurance Capital, FPC Regional underlines its ongoing confidence in Forge Care’s next growth phase under the continued leadership of Gavin and Ryan Miller alongside Managing Director Adam Wells.
Huw Sparkes, Investment Manager at FPC Regional, said: “Forge Care is a brilliant example of how targeted regional investment turns bold concepts into high-value market leaders. The Miller family and their leadership team have built an exceptional model of care, and Endurance Capital’s arrival is a clear testament to that quality. We are proud to realise returns on our early support while maintaining a meaningful stake in the business as it expands across the UK.”
Gavin Miller, Director of Forge Care, added: “Our ambition has always been to set the benchmark for therapeutic residential care. FPC Regional recognised the potential in our model before anyone else, providing the patient capital and strategic direction we needed to scale safely and build a world-class operation. As my parents, Jean and Michael, step into a well-deserved retirement, Ryan and I are excited to enter this next growth chapter with Endurance Capital, while continuing our valued partnership with FPC Regional.”
Robert Lynn of Endurance Capital, said: “Finding a specialist provider that balances trauma-informed therapeutic care with such strong operational discipline is rare. What the team has built in Warwickshire, with early support from FPC Regional, sets a clear benchmark for children’s residential services. We are pleased to partner with the team at Forge Care to help fund this next phase of expansion and bring their essential care model to more young people across the UK.”
