Expert Trades has received £194,000 of private investment led by venture capital company Midven. The company has developed an intuitive platform that offers a comprehensive suite of tools for trades professionals to enhance their digital presence, reduce admin time and capture clients.

The website was set up after founder Adam Callow noticed that trades professionals were still having difficulty developing their online presence and processes in light of the current range of existing solutions. Expert Trades raises the game whereby professionals can benefit from an automated invoicing and CRM system as well as developing their personal brand and company reputation.

Adam Callow, CEO said: “It’s all about bridging the gap between the homeowner and the trades professional. We employ a rigorous checking process to ensure that the service that the trades clients receive is one that they can trust and enjoy. Once on the platform, requesting a quote for a service is a click away and everything is managed online. No more missed calls, no more missed appointments and no unexpected costs.”

The company, based at The Custard Factory, in Digbeth, will use the Early Advantage fund’s seed capital to grow the community of professionals on the site and develop additional platform features. Aanisah Begg, Investment Executive said, “Expert Trades doesn’t follow the traditional lead generation model taken by its competitors, instead focussing on developing trades professionals. If the Company continues to scale its user base and features, it will have the potential to bring together trades professionals, merchants and property owners as the home improvement market shifts towards a ‘do it for me’ culture.”
